Comic books for our CGC guaranteed pre-orders are ordered 2 months in advance. We order according to orders received so very rarely do we have additional items to purchase later.

Once we receive the comics from our supplier they are checked for quality and probability of achieving a 9.8 grade. Not every thing we receive from the supplier meets the standard. 9.8 grades are not a given, the comic needs to be virtually flawless in order to make the grade.

90% of the comics we receive from the supplier need to be pressed prior to being submitted to CGC. Each book will remain on the press for 24 hours to eliminate the possibility of reversion.

Once we are completely satisfied with the standard of the comic it will be set aside ready to be submitted to CGC. We generally submit once a month in order to reduce shipping and handling costs so as to reduce the cost to our customers.

All our comics are then hand delivered to CGC in London ready to be shipped to Florida. We only ever deliver and collect in person, that way we can be sure that the comics reach CGC in the condition they left us and also by collecting in person we can spot any errors immediately and send them straight back to be rectified ( this happens more than you would imagine).

Once we have the books in our possession they will be shipped out to the customer, if there are multiple items on a single order they will be shipped once we have received them all back.

A little note on turnaround times. We often get questioned why books take so long to be graded when CGC are quoting 20 days turnaround. CGC start the clock from the moment the books are entered into their system. In our experience this is often 3 to 4 weeks after they receive them from us, then add the 20 business days turnaround and you are quickly up to 7 or 8 weeks. The typical CGC turnaround time has been 45 working days so when you add in all the processes involved it can become 4 to 5 months before a book is returned to the customer.
